Dear Church Family,
What a great Sunday!! It was fantastic to all worship together as a church family, to hear the sanctuary full of so many voices as we sang and to witness our Confirmands profess their faith. Special thanks go to our Chancel Choir, Martha Frances Monroe and Laura Ruth Welborn for their music.
I also want to th,ank everyone who helped with our Confirmation Class. We always have great mentors and this year we were certainly blessed. Rev. Greg Smith gave a lot of time to this year’s class and I am grateful for his leadership. Anita Alef and Donna Mills blessed our class and their families with a wonderful breakfast, too. Thank you both!
Our Youth Choir did a super job with their Spring Concert and I always love hearing them give testimonies as well about their trips, small groups and experiences. Special thanks go to Mary Beth Muncie, Tana Ranager and Greg & Helen Smith for working with our Youth Choir this semester.
The Lay Mobilization Team continues to meet regularly as they are learning more and more about discipleship and sharing ministry together. All of the committee chairpersons met with our LMI Team over the last two Sunday afternoons to go through some of the LMI video and workbook material, to study chapters from one of the key books that our LMI Team is using, Discipleship Essentials, and to just fellowship, share testimonies and pray together. Our LMI Team continues to update our Administrative Council about what we are learning and they will also share a presentation soon with our congregation.
Lastly, our Delta Grace mission Team had a great reunion meeting this past Sunday night. For those of you on Facebook, you can watch a video of our mission trip on our church’s group page and you can also “like” and visit the Delta Grace page to see the progress of the three projects that we began. Again, I am very thankful to JJ Harris and Melissa Tate for their leadership with this UMVIM mission trip!
Please do your best to be with us in worship if you are in town and to also catch up on your giving if you are behind. As we anticipate Rev. Tim Prather’s arrival, I want him to see that we are excited and faithful to our church, ministry and stewardship. See you Sunday! God bless.
