FROM THE PASTOR

Dear Church Family,

As always, I want to begin by thanking everyone who encouraged us through our worship experience this past Sunday. Matthew Harris and Gregory Nelson did a great job with their song at the 8:45am service! Our Chancel Choir and Embrace Praise Team continue to bless us each Sunday.

I do want to say a words of thank to our Nurture Committee and all of the Sunday School classes that helped serve the Wednesday Night Supper meals this semester. I also want to thank our Nurture Committee chairperson, Amy Whiteside, for all of the wonderful Mother’s Day treats at The Connection this past Sunday!

All of our regular Wednesday night studies have concluded for the year. We are truly blessed to have so many volunteers to work with our children, youth and adults; as well as, to give of their time in our Music Ministries. Over the years our Education Committee has thought about making Wednesday night the focus of our small group ministries but we could never pull the trigger on that because we have so many people who give of themselves to lead Bible studies and to practice music that night. Thanks go to everyone who helps us grow in our faith and in worship through what they do on Wednesday nights!

Last Wednesday night I was reminded again about how important all of us are to our youth. At their Senior Night so many of our youth gave testimonies about how other youth had impacted their lives but also how volunteers and our church had shaped and blessed them. There was a lot of laughing but there was also a lot of crying at that special event. We are so fortunate with the Youth Ministry leadership and volunteers that we have and last Wednesday was a testament to that.

This coming Sunday is another opportunity to encourage and support our youth. The Baccalaureate Service is always a special day to celebrate how God has shared His grace with our students through our church and to encourage those students to stay close to Him in the years to come. Please do your best to be present for this annual service.

Again, let’s all do our best with our giving and worship attendance as we move closer to our pastoral transition. Personally, I just want to see you all as much as I can but we also want to encourage our incoming pastor with our strong attendance and giving. See you Sunday! God bless.
