This Sunday is Easter and without a doubt the biggest Sunday on the Christian calendar. I am looking forward to seeing you in worship! Here are some suggestions on making Easter even more meaningful for you and your family.
- Attend Holy Week services. Our Maundy Thursday service will be at 7 p.m., and we will worship at Noon on Good Friday. These two services will take us through the Last Supper as well as the crucifixion. It’s important to go through the valley of Holy Week in order to experience the full joy of Easter.
- Spend some extra time in prayer this week. Take out your Bible and read the Passion stories from the Gospels. Extra time with God will make Easter all the more powerful when the beautiful day comes!
- Bring a friend. We are the keepers of the greatest story that can ever be told, but we shouldn’t keep it to ourselves. Not at all! We should actually give it away to as many people as possible. You’d be surprised to know how many of your friends and neighbors are unchurched and very open to a warm invitation to come worship with you on Easter. Offer to pick them up. Offer to sit with them. Do whatever it takes to share this great Gospel story with which we’ve been entrusted! Bring a friend!
Remember that Easter joy is right around the corner, but first, we journey through the darker days of Holy Week. I look forward to seeing you Thursday, Friday, and, of course, on Sunday for the grand celebration of our Lord’s resurrection!
