This past Sunday we got the season of Advent off to a wonderful start. I thought I’d use this week’s “Pastor’s Pen” to write about upcoming events related to Sunday morning worship.
Combined Early Worship
Due to renovations taking place in the CLC, we will have one early service beginning December 15 through sometime in mid-January. The service time each week will be 9:00 a.m.
What will this service look like and sound like? Well, it will look, sound, and feel like our traditional services in many ways with the addition of a few acoustic songs from our Embrace musicians. Most importantly, the Word of God will be preached, the sacraments administered, and Jesus will be glorified.
But what do I wear in the sanctuary? I’m glad you asked. Come as you are! And, yes, jeans are o.k.!
The most important thing is to continue to come to worship. This is a holy and special time of year. Make sure you don’t miss out on the blessings God has in store for you!
Speaking of blessings, we will have the opportunity to receive a great one when our choir presents the annual Christmas Cantata on December 22. This will be a ONE Service that begins at 10:30 a.m.
Nothing warms our hearts quite like a full sanctuary and the singing that comes forth from so many voices. Let’s aim for standing-room only this year and really show up to worship God and be blessed by the incredible talent of our Chancel Choir.
Yes, this is a busy time of year. But don’t let it be so busy that you miss Advent and the special worship services that are happening every week during this holy season. See you Sunday!
