The Pastor’s Pen

I want to say a few words about worship. We are entering the most powerful time of the church year as we look forward to Holy Week beginning this Sunday. Of course, we will be celebrating Palm Sunday and Jesus’ triumphant entry into Jerusalem. Here’s a schedule of the worship services that will be offered this week:

Palm Sunday—April 9
–8:45, 9:00, and 11:00 a.m. worship services.

Wednesday—April 12
-Normal Wednesday night activities.
–I will begin a four-part series on the last week of Jesus’ earthly life at 6 p.m. in the sanctuary.

Thursday—April 13
–Holy Thursday service at 7 p.m.

Friday—April 14
–Good Friday Service at Noon (followed by a sack lunch).

Saturday—April 15
–Easter Egg Hunt at 10 a.m. at the home of Dr. Sam and Barbara Creekmore.

Sunday—April 16
–Easter Day worship at 8:45, 9:00,  and 11:00 a.m.

Let me encourage you to take part in as much of our Holy Week schedule as possible, especially our Maundy Thursday service. It will make the joy of Easter Day all the sweeter!

I am excited to be celebrating my first of hopefully many Holy Weeks with you, my church family. Let us worship God together.
