Thank you so much to everyone who helped make Lay Sunday a success. David Chapin and Angie Yerby were masterful preachers, Cheri Hobson and Steve Shirley led the traditional services well, and at all three services we were treated to fantastic music!
As a pastor, I’ve always enjoyed sitting in the pews on Lay Sunday. It’s encouraging to see lay leadership take charge of our worship services, and it gives me great confidence to be reminded that God has given us everything we need to succeed in ministry together. He’s given us each other, and He’s given us His Spirit.
This Sunday is All Saints Sunday. We will remember those in our congregation who have gone on to the Church Triumphant during the last year. It’s a special day of worship and remembrance. Please make every effort to be present with your brothers and sisters in Christ.
Let me give you a stewardship update…
As of Tuesday afternoon, we have received 114 commitments for 2019 that total $579,190. There are 56 pledges from 2018 that have not renewed for 2019. These total $270,860.
Have you made your financial commitment for 2019? What can God do among us when we are faithful in our financial discipleship? That’s an exciting question to ask! Please prayerfully consider your commitment to our great church. Your generosity WILL make a difference!
P.S. I’d like to personally invite you to the consecration of our new chapel. We will gather this Sunday at 3 p.m. in the Chapel for a time of worship. The offering that afternoon will go toward the debt on our Chapel and Education Building.
