Dear Church Family,
Just wanted to mention two trips that we have coming up this summer for our student ministry and ask for your prayers as we prepare to go out from our church family here at FUMC New Albany for the purposes of growing in our faith and serving others in the name and spirit of Jesus Christ.
On June 18th we will begin our trek to St. Paul, MN in partnership with YouthWorks, an international Christian service organization, to serve the needs of children, youth, and adults in the inner-city areas of St. Paul. We will be working with Boys and Girls Club of America, and with other inner-city service organizations specific to the St. Paul area, to minister to those who are impoverished and in need of love and encouragement in Christ. Please pray that our efforts in the St. Paul area will be received well and that the name of Jesus will be made great among the people that we serve. Also pray that the grace of God will go with us as we travel…
Below are the names of those attending the YouthWorks trip to St. Paul, MN:
(Elise Dunnam, Jackson Christ, Isabelle Campbell, Rachel Rainey, Gregory Smith, Helen Smith, Megan Smith, Laura Welborn, Kenley Olson, John Wright Welborn, Amy Welborn, Mary Spencer Morgan, Hudson Ranager, Laura Suzanne Creekmore, Maggie Creekmore, Penny Creekmore, Allyson Chapin, Jack Durrett)
On July 3rd we will be traveling to m28Camps which is held at The Lake Junaluska Conference and Retreat Center in Lake Junaluska, NC. This is a discipleship and spiritual formation retreat sponsored by Eddie and Allyson Willis from Oxford, MS (Eddie is the Ole Miss Wesley Foundation Director and ordained Deacon in the MS Conference). Lake J is such a beautiful and peaceful place for us to disengage from the trappings of the world and receive the grace and sustenance of God anew. Please pray for us as we travel and pray that we will experience and receive the grace and love of Christ in new ways that will sustain us and grow us all as we continue in our walk with Jesus.
In all things, may the grace of God go with you…
Rev. Gregory Smith
