Dear Church Family,
What a great Sunday!! We were blessed in our traditional services by flautist Nan Lawrence, from FUMC Tupelo, as well as by our Adult Hand-Bell Choir, the Chancel Choir and Martha Frances Monroe. Thank you all!
I also want to thank Anita Alef for the fantastic food, Martha Rainey for the table decorations, our Education Committee for hosting and Laura Welborn and Kate Male for playing music for our Teacher Appreciation Breakfast this past Sunday. We are blessed with so many people who diligently study and teach us and I am very thankful to everyone who helped to celebrate and honor them.
We have an incredible Flock Committee who do so much to bless our senior adults with a great lunch, devotional, fellowship and program each month. Thank you all for your work! This past week Greg Smith sang and Martha Frances Monroe accompanied him and it was a wonderful treat. Thank you both!
I really enjoyed teaching our Confirmation Class this past Sunday. This coming Sunday they will all attend the Embrace service so that they can experience a contemporary service and then they, along with their mentors and Greg, will go to Tupelo to experience worship in a much more formal setting at St. James Episcopal Church. It is hard to believe that we are almost halfway through their confirmation journey. Please continue to lift up this class, and their mentors, in your prayers. Confirmation Sunday will be a ONE Sunday when all of our three worship services all meet together and it will be held on Sunday, May 1.
Greg and I will continue in our recent sermon series this week. Please visit our recently updated church Web site (www.fumcnewalbany.com) to watch past traditional services.
I realize that spring is just around the corner and that many of us will begin to get even more busy but I do want to encourage all of to take advantage of our Wednesday Night Supper and studies. We can all get to see each other and fellowship together at the supper. Since we have three worship services, we need to attend any special events we have but also Wednesday Night Suppers to keep a connection together.
