Dear Church Family,
We have really been blessed this year with wonderful times of worship together. We shared in the sacrament of holy communion this past week, had several families join our church and were led in worship by beautiful music. Special thanks go to Kate Male, Sara Male, Tom Coltharp, our Chancel Choir, our Embrace Praise Team and Martha Frances Monroe for their music.
Please make sure to welcome the new people who joined this week. I was blessed to baptize Carly and Camryn Frazier this past weekend before they formally professed their faith and joined our church at our 8:45am service. I am very thankful to Rev. Greg Spencer and First Baptist Church for allowing us to use their baptistry again. We also have a few more individuals and families that will be joining in a few weeks so it is a really exciting time for our church family.
I do want to let our church family know that I will be on vacation with my children during the week of Spring Break. Please call on Rev. Greg Smith and our church office with any pastoral needs during that week. I will be back to preach for Palm Sunday, March 20. Sara will actually be visiting Rosicler Dos Passos, a missionary with Shade and Fresh Water Project, in Sao Paulo, Brazil during that week. Please be praying for her safety and for the opportunities she has to make presentations to the Vila Planalto Methodist Church and also to the Shade and Fresh Water Project that church hosts.
I am very encouraged to hear that we already have around 35 people attending the Delta Grace mission trip (April 232-24). Their first team meeting will be on Sunday, March 20, in the Buzzy Clayton classroom. We can take registration for a little longer so please call the church office soon if you would like to attend this mission trip.
If you attend one of our traditional services, please do your best to attend this Sunday’s combined service at 10:30am. Anytime we have the chance to all meet and worship together and to see one another, we need to present for that.
Stay forever in the Light; never lose sight of the Way. God bless!
Rev. Barry Male, Jr.
