I’d like to begin by saying a word about a change in our worship life that you may begin noticing this coming Sunday. After much conversation and prayer, Bro. Greg and I have decided to better align our pastoral responsibilities. Beginning September 11, the same pastor will preach all three morning worship services. As your senior pastor, I will preach most Sundays with Bro. Greg preaching every 4-6 weeks.
The major change you may notice is a rearranging of the order of worship for the 8:45 a.m. service. The sermon will come earlier, and after preaching, I will head to our Embrace service. Bro. Greg will kick-off the Embrace service and then come over to the 8:45 a.m. service to lead the remainder of the liturgy.
Again, the only major change will take place at the 8:45 a.m. service. Bro. Greg and I met with about 20 regular worshippers from this early traditional service, and I was both impressed and grateful for their willingness to be flexible.
While Bro. Greg’s major responsibility will continue to be youth ministry, it is our hope that reducing his preaching workload will give him time to invest in discipleship, small group, and assimilation ministries. Bro. Greg is very gifted in these areas, and I anticipate his efforts will bring much fruit to our community of faith.
Please call me if you have any questions about these changes. Know that Bro. Greg and I are both humbled and thankful to be your appointed pastors.
