This past Sunday was such a joyful day in the life of our church. What an honor it was to officiate at the baptism of the Metts twins, Sara Jean and Anne Baker. Their parents, Caleb and Virginia, also united with our church during the baptismal service. It’s so wonderful to have Caleb, Virginia, Hattie, Will, Sara Jean, and Anne Baker as part of our church family!
After the 8:45 a.m. service, I walked over the CLC to catch part of Embrace. There was standing room only as people were literally lining the back wall during worship. It has been a joy to watch this service grow over the past few years!
At 11 a.m. we had a great crowd, many of whom were present to honor Girl Scout Sunday. Five troops were presented, and three girls were honored with Gold Awards. The Gold Award is the highest honor a Girl Scout can receive (equivalent to the Eagle in Boy Scouts). Congratulations to our very own Hannah Harris who received a Gold Award! We are extremely proud of you!
A word about the music at our 11 a.m. service: It was fantastic! From the choir to the hand bells to the hymns, we were led into a spirit of worship. Our music program is a pillar of our church. Thank you to our choir and musicians! Your love for and dedication to our church are appreciated!
And………Thank you, thank you, thank you for your faithfulness in worship attendance. We are definitely off to a great start for 2019. Let’s continue our faithfulness through the rest of Lent as we anticipate the joyful Easter celebration to come!
