Since there will be no newsletter next week, let me take this opportunity to say “Happy Thanksgiving!”
Thanksgiving is a wonderful holiday celebration because it reminds us to reflect upon how God has blessed us and then respond with gratitude. Of course, gratitude is essential to a life of faith, and gratitude that’s not expressed doesn’t do anyone much good. So, make sure that you have some intentional time of returning thanks to God in the coming week. Even in a time of pandemic, we have so much for which we should be thankful!
Speaking of the pandemic, I want you to know that we will always be transparent about COVID as it relates to our church. We send out notices when we have COVID exposure in the church not to be alarmist, but to be transparent and helpful. If you would like to be on our church-wide text/e-mail system, please call Judy at the church office and let her know.
Because of COVID, we will be forced to make changes to our normal Christmas Eve services. This year we will have three worship opportunities on Christmas Eve so we
can insure we have enough space to practice social distancing. We are asking members with last names beginning with A-G to attend the 3 p.m. service, members with last names beginning with H-P to attend the 4:30 p.m. service, and members with last names beginning with Q-Z to attend the 6 p.m. service. I appreciate your patience and understanding as we seek to worship Christ on this most holy night while at the same time providing a safe environment for all who come.
Again, Happy Thanksgiving! Know that I am truly thankful for you and deeply honored to be your pastor. May these holidays truly be holy days for you!
