Christ is risen!
Christ is risen, indeed! Alleluia!
What beautiful words we were able to recite IN-PERSON this year! And don’t get me started about how wonderful it was to have a full-house at both services for Easter Sunday! As we regather from COVID, let’s use the Easter season as a springboard that gives us great momentum over the next few months.
-COVID infections and hospitalizations are down drastically in our area.
-The vaccine is widely available now, and so anyone wishing to get it should be able to.
-Our church has installed a state-of-the-art air-cleaning system that kills many
viruses and other pathogens. In other words, we have worked hard to make our worship environment the safest it can possibly be.
So, it’s time to begin to regather as a congregation for weekly worship. But the most powerful reason we have to gather each week for worship is that we are an Easter people! If we really believe what the Gospels tell us happened on that first Easter morning and we really want to be part of God’s Kingdom, the first activity we are to be a part of is worship with our community of faith.
We are off to a great start for the Easter season. This coming Sunday is Confirmation, so let’s be sure to be present as we celebrate our young people making their professions of faith. This is a big day in the life of our church, so let’s be here for it!
Know that I’m so happy and proud to be your pastor. Happy Easter!
