The Pastor’s Pen

It was a pleasure to get to be with you and preach this past Sunday.
Many times, for us pastors, it is hard to preach on certain topics because
our church really does do so well in many areas. Preaching on service was
no different. But, we can always grow. Sometimes, we need reminders
about why we do the things we do and this is what I felt let by the Spirit
to aim at on Sunday. I hoped to leave you with a sense of calling to the
work our Lord gave us to do while we are here. Ultimately, we are to follow in the footsteps of He who calls us.

In Luke 22:24-30, a dispute arose between the disciples about who
is the greatest disciple. Jesus tells them something profound. He says in
verse 26, “let the greatest among you become as the youngest, and the
leader as the one who serves.” Church, let us be great. Let us be the leader
who serves.

In closing, I’d like to recall your attention to fivefoldministry.com.
This is the website that you can take the spiritual gifts test based on Ephesians 4.

We are going through a series on these in the youth ministry. I highly
recommend taking the “full-test” and emailing your results to yourself to
further explore your spiritual giftings. Let me know if you have questions.
Peace of Christ,
Rev. Thomas Toole
