I want to first thank you for your generosity. In all three services this past Sunday I made an appeal for tornado relief in South Mississippi. As of Monday morning we had received $1,829.00, and I can assure that this generous offering will help many people who have found themselves in a desperate situation.
Our topic for Sunday’s sermon was “GROW.” Our church’s mission is to “ENGAGE our community with love, GROW together in faith, and SEND forth disciples of Jesus Christ.” How are you doing with the GROW part of it all.
John Wesley believed that there is no such thing as a solitary Christian. We need others (people) in order to grow in our faith and love of God. If you are not connected to a small group in the life of our church, then please consider jumping in with both feet to one of the following:
Sunday School class
Small group Bible study
United Methodist Women
Ministry groups such as the choir, hand bell choir, or The Flock
We grow best when we plant ourselves in community with others. Will you consider this opportunity?
The last verb in our new mission statement is “SEND.” What exactly does this mean, and how do we do it? That’s what we’ll be talking about this Sunday morning. Come and see!
