It was good attending last week’s Annual Conference along with Brother Greg and the lay members from our congregation. I really appreciate Cheri Hobson, Lillian Parks, Jill Shaw, and Amy Welborn taking time out of their schedules to serve as delegates to Annual Conference. We had a wonderful time serving together, and since the tradition is for the bishop to “fix” the appointments for the upcoming conference year on the last day of the gathering, I am happy to report to you that I am “officially” returning as your pastor for another year.
My first year with you has been absolutely wonderful. You have welcomed my family with love and inspired me with your faithfulness and commitment to serve others. Our vital signs in our first year of ministry are awesome. We are averaging 22 more in worship compared to this time last year, we have given $90,000 more year to date, and every where you turn there are flourishing ministries.
Let me also mention that we are edging ever closer to the new building opening, several new families have joined our church this year, and there are quite a few people in conversation with me about becoming part of our community of faith. God is definitely on the move among the people called Methodists at New Albany First!
Thank you, thank you, thank you. It is your faithfulness that has made all of this possible. I simply can’t tell you often enough how proud I am to be your pastor. My family is excited to be here, we have all fallen in love with New Albany, and we look forward to many more years of fruitful ministry at FUMC New Albany.
