Well, get ready to be blessed because this Sunday is Youth Sunday!
A all three services our young people will be leading. The prayers, some of the music, and even the preaching will be done by members of our youth group. I do hope that you will make plans to be present and show your support. We have a most excellent group of youth, and Thomas Toole, Elizabeth Vogel, and the army of volunteer leaders are such blessing to our church and make sure our youth ministry is top-notch.
How is Lent going for you?
I know…I kind of snuck that question in on you, didn’t I? But I believe as we look toward the Third Sunday of Lent that a check-up is in order.
My focus this Lent has been a renewed emphasis on prayer. In fact, the conversations I’ve had around this topic with some of our members have been an incredible source of joy. Personally, I have found that it helps to have something guide my prayers—a prayer book, devotional, etc.
Do you use resources to help enrich your prayer life? Has your prayer life grown stale and needs some direction? There are many resources to consider, and if you’d like to have a cup of coffee and some conversation on prayer, then please don’t hesitate to call me.
Eugene Peters once wrote that the most important things pastors do is help people learn to pray. I agree, but I would also add that we pastors often learn a whole lot from our lay people on this topic!
Continue having a holy Lent. And don’t wait too long to call me for that cup of coffee!
